TCP/IP model layers | TCP/IP model layers explained
In that article TCP/IP model layers such as The application layer, transport layer, internet layer and network access layer are the four layers of the original TCP / IP model.
TCP/IP model layers:
A computing protocol is a set of rules for proper communication between any two or more computer plants (Computer, Gateway, Router, etc.). Appropriate rules need to be underlined for the beginning of communication, coordination of orders and smooth exchange of information. The rules are followed through software or hardware. Depending on the nature of the communication (and the exchange of information), which rules are appropriate.

• TCP (Transmission Control Protocol)
• IP (Internet Protocol)
• UDP (User Datagram Protocol)
• HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol)
• FTP (File Transfer Protocol)
• SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)
• TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) and IP (Internet Protocol) :
- It is a set of rules that determine how the Internet works.
- It enables the communication and transfer of information between two computers.
- Used to send their data securely.
- The role of the TCP is to divide the data into smaller parts and mark the address of the IP target site on this packet.
- TCP/IP is one of the most important protocols available on the Internet.
- Through which information is exchanged between the Internet, a network or other Internet device.
- TCP / IP is a set of protocols that communicate between a computer and a network.
- Through which we can exchange information over the Internet with the help of our mobiles and other devices.
- For all computer hardware and operating systems same as the implementation of TCP / IP .
- Therefore, all types of computer hardware and networks can connect or communicate with each other via TCP / IP.
- TCP / IP is a tool for sending any data over the Internet.
- Through these two protocols, any information is transmitted from one place to another in the Internet.
How does TCP / IP work?
- The TCP / IP protocol allows data to reach its destination by keeping the data secure across the Internet.
- TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) divides the entire data into smaller data packets and it sends it to the internet.
- Now IP (Internet Protocol) data reaches its destination point. Which communicates between the Internet and the network.
- In both of these protocols communication is not possible without the Internet.
There are four main types of TCP / IP network models:
1. Network Interface Level: – This is the lowest level of TCP / IP. This layer is also called network access layer. This layer does the same thing as the physical layer and the data link layer of the OSI model. The function of the network layer describes how to send network data.
2. Internet Layer (Network Layer): – This layer acts like the network layer of OSI model, hence it is also called network layer. This layer is between the application layer and the transport layer. The main function of this layer is to provide non-connection communication in the network.
3. Transport layer: – This layer is located between the application layer and the internet layer. The very important function of this layer is to transmit data. There are two types of protocols working in this layer- 1) Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) 2) User Datagram Protocol (UDP)
4. Application layer: – It is the top layer of TCP / IP. Only through this layer, the user can take advantage of all the other layers. It is through this layer that the user connects to the Internet or network. Such as: – Web browser, email browser etc. The application layer performs many types of protocols like HTTP, DNS, FTP etc.
